Thistle & Oak
RESTAURANT SUGAR HILL, GA
A restaurant in Sugar Hill, designed by Ashley Schneider, that takes the warmth of a Scottish public house and gives it a quiet polish. Plaid runs through it without ever tipping into theme — the cue is unmistakable, the execution grown-up.
The dining room. Taupe leather banquettes and barrel chairs gather under oversized cone pendants, with marble-topped tables edged in brass and a grand piano anchoring the room beneath a sculptural gold chandelier. It reads as a place built for long dinners.
The private room. Behind it, a more intimate setting: plaid wallpaper, a stone fireplace, olive-gold drapery and a porthole mirror, with a botanical gallery wall above the table. The same character, turned inward for a smaller party.
The details. The personality lives in the smaller moves too — a camel leather host chair against the plaid, yellow tableware, a landscape painting between black sconces, organic florals on woven placemats. From the brand to the styling, there isn't an element of Thistle & Oak Ashley didn't touch, and the room reads as one idea because of it.
Thistle & Oak is part of the hospitality background Ashley carried into Luxe Style Studio.
