Local Hearth

RESTAURANT & BAR ACWORTH, GA

The name carries the thesis. A hearth is the warm center of a room — the point people drift toward without quite deciding to — and Local Hearth, a kitchen and bar in Acworth designed by Ashley Schneider, is built entirely around that drift.

Lodge, by way of speakeasy. Custom millwork brings the heft of a mountain retreat, a black honeycomb-tile backsplash sharpens it and cognac leather stools line the bar. Light does much of the work. Cascading brass globe pendants and a sputnik chandelier hold the room at a low golden murmur rather than restaurant brightness.

The table everyone shares. A live-edge community table runs alongside the bar as an open invitation to sit nearer to strangers than restaurants usually allow. The branding — Ashley's as well, from the mark on the door inward — keeps the identity present without raising its voice. Outside, the patio carries the same welcome into the evening air.

All of a piece. From the brand to the last detail of styling, there isn't an element of Local Hearth that didn't pass through Ashley's hands on its way from concept through construction to first service. The coherence shows.

That same care now shapes the work at Luxe Style Studio.
